Fiercely protective of her private life, the media (better yet, the paparazzi) nevertheless managed to scale the walls of Queen Latifah’s royal throne to once again and snatch photos of her in a delicate and romantic moment with suspected girlfriend Eboni Nichols — way over in Italy.
The two are reportedly in the throes of a full-blown relationship, and were caught stealing a kiss in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, after Latifah and her previous girlfriend, fitness instructor Jeannette Jenkins, ended their eight-year relationship. That previous relationship was “confirmed” when the paparazzi also saw Latifah and Jenkins hugging and kissing affectionately aboard a yacht during a vacation several years ago.
To this day, Latifah has steadfastly refused to succumb to public pressure to confirm her sexual orientation. Her popularity has not suffered at all in the ensuing years, but has, in fact, expanded with the her daytime talk show and major Madison endorsement deals.
Dana Owens, 41, first began hanging out with Nichols, 33, back in 2009 when the world-famous dancer and choreographer put together a routine for Latifah’s guest appearance on “Dancing with the Stars.” It has also been reported that Nichols was the source of some of Latifah’s and Jenkins’ fiercest relationship fights in recent years.
