A fight and ensuing stampede that injured multiple people marred an otherwise successful 2014 V103 Car + Bike Show at the Georgia World Congress Center on Saturday evening.
Commotion that was caused by a reported fight sent people flying towards the doors by the hundreds, and multiple people got trampled or ran into inanimate objects. Paramedics were on the scene to treat several people for scrapes, twisted ankles and anxiety. There was rampant speculation that shots were fired inside the convention hall, but GWCC Police were not able to find evidence of that.
The GWCC released a statement that read:
“At approximately 8:05 p.m. Saturday, an incident occurred at the Car and Bike Show inside the Georgia World Congress Center causing an early end to the show. Ten minor injuries have been confirmed. The Georgia World Congress Center Authority Public Safety Department confirmed that no shots were fired on premises. The incident is under investigation by the GWCC Police Department. No further information is available at this time.”
This was the 11th annual Car + Bike Show, which featured multiple artists such as TI, T-Pain, Doug E Fresh and Da Brat.
