These funds were the proceeds of a Peppi’s Hoagie Fundraiser conducted members of the program’s Street Team. The team employs current and former foster youth to do outreach with other foster youth. Every quarter the team chooses a different local organization to support.
CSCF’s mission aligns well with Circle C Youth and Family Services mission. Circle C serves at-risk youth in the greater Pittsburgh area. CSCF provides essential skills for children impacted by sickle cell disease. “We recognize CSCF’s great work in the community and hope this grant helps them to provide swimsuits for the children who will be learning to swim this year” states Ms. Stevenson.
This grant will support the children participating in the Learn2Swim component of the weekly SMASH Sickle Cell Program that is held at the Children’s Institute. SMASH stands for Stay Motivated, Active, Smart and Healthy.
