The first Saturday in May is Kentucky Derby day in Kentucky but in Pittsburgh it is the day for the best hat luncheon in the city.
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Spring Hat Luncheon, this year was the sixteenth annual. This year’s location was the entrance to Highland Park and the grand event attracted more than 600 guests and raised more than $500,000 for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
Since its inception, the Hat Luncheon events have raised more than $6 million dollars toward Parks Conservancy restoration projects. Among the projects that proceeds from the hat luncheon will go toward are Mellon Square Park and Cliffside Park.
However the big attraction of the day is the ladies and gents in their beautiful outfits and the smashing hats all for fun and fashion and raising money for Pittsburgh’s beautiful parks.
