Teenie Harris Exhibit

Wade in the Water

The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents Mukwae Wabei Siyolwe and Daniel Bernad Roumin’s in “Wade in the Water” at 8 p.m. at The Alloy Studio, 5530 Penn Ave., East Liberty. Mukwae Wabei Siyolwe explores modern-day revolutions spurred by social media in Africa while looking back in time to an ancient ceremony on the Barotse Floodplain that relocated the masses to higher ground. The performance will feature live music by violinist and composer Daniel Bernard Roumain with Chen Lo, Sitali, vocalist Anqwenique Wingfield and others. Jazz at Andys

Dance Africa

The Legacy Arts Project presents “Dance Africa Pittsburgh 2014: Connecting the World Through Dance” at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. Dance Africa is the nation’s largest festival dedicated to African Dance. The event will feature Baba Chuck Davis, Dance Africa founder; The Legacy Arts Project Community Ensemble; IIIStyle and Peace Productions hip-hop dance ensemble; and Oyo Oro, the Afro-Cuban Experimental Dance Ensemble.
