Wayne County Circuit Court judge, Wade McCree will be removed from the bench according to a ruling by the Michigan Supreme Court.
McCree “engaged in conduct involving deceit or intentional misrepresentation,” by having an intimate relationship with a woman seeking child support in a case he was hearing, WXYZ reports quoting the removal order.
McCree will be suspended without pay for a period of six years. Along with the extended suspension, McCree was also ordered to pay $12,000 in court costs.
McCree recently submitted paperwork to run for reelection in November. If he proceeds and is reelected, he will be suspended for the entire six-year term.
