College Park Announces Warming Center For Citizens in Case of Power Outage

College_Park.jpgThe city of College Park is committed to the safety and well-being of its citizens. With bitter cold temperatures forecast for the Atlanta area, College Park public safety has a plan to assist citizens in times of need.
Should inclement weather arise resulting in power outages, the city will open its auditorium on Main Street for temporary shelter. This goodwill gesture is a first for the south metro area.
The level of urgency will be assessed by city staff, led by City Manager Terrence Moore. Once the senior staff/public safety group has determined that shelter should be made available, notification will commence via Atlanta television media, Collegeparkga.com, facebook, twitter and College Park TV-23.
College Park citizens may contact City Hall @ 404 767-1537 for more information. Hours and days may be extended under extreme conditions. The College Park City Auditorium is located at 3631 Main Street.
