Twitter Responds To Justine Sacco’s Racist Africa-AIDS Tweet

Justine Sacco tweetTwitter was sent into a heated frenzy Friday afternoon when a tweet by a public relations representative allegedly visiting Africa sparked outrage amongst users.
“Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS,” read a tweet by Justine Sacco. “Just kidding. I’m white!”
InterActive Corp, Sacco’s employer and owner of websites, The Daily Beast and OkCupid, immediately released a statement to the International Business Times stating:

@JustineSacco I’m absolutely shocked! By far, the worst and most inappropriate tweet I’ve read in a very long time. IAC won’t be too happy
