damon p williams pastorThe Performing Arts Ministry of Providence Missionary Baptist Church has announced two events taking place during the 2013-14 holiday season.
First, the church invites the community to “Son-Light,” the 2013 Christmas program, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. “Son- Light” is a musical drama where homeless Mace realizes that he has strayed because he has forgotten the true light of Jesus.
“Son-Light” will also include performances by the PMBC Mass Choir, Mime Artist Kelvin Walker, and The Roses and The Angelic Wings of Praise dance troupes. The play was written by Janet Milton and directed by Bridget Shepard. Rev. Damon P. Williams serves as senior pastor. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, contact 404-752-6869 or go to www.providenceatlanta.org.
The church is also hosting an event to ring in the new year. Pastor Damon Williams and Providence Missionary Baptist Church, along with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Peyton Road, extend invitations to their “one-of-a-kind” Watch Night service on New Year’s Eve.
The doors will open at 9:30 p.m. The joint service begins at 10 p.m. and concludes at midnight with a prayer for peace and blessings in the new year. All are welcome to attend this worship event, which will include praise, worship and an inspirational message from Pastor Williams.
