(AP) U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx says a $275 million federal loan will help fund a major highway project in the Atlanta area.
Foxx was in Atlanta on Thursday to announce funding for a plan to add reversible traffic lanes on heavily traveled Interstate 75 and I-575.
The almost 30-mile-long project is aimed at relieving congestion along the road during morning and evening rush hours.
The project will cost $834 million in all.
The highways are one of Georgia’s most congested traffic corridors with more than 400,000 people living in the area.
