MARTA Fulton County Representative Resigns

Adam Orkin, one of three MARTA Board Members representing Fulton County, has resigned, the company annonuced Monday. According to a release from MARTA, effective immediately, Mr. Orkin is the CEO of a real estate investment and asset management company. He had served as chair of the Operations and Safety Committee.

In response, Frederick L. Daniels, Jr., Chairman of the MARTA Board of Directors, issued the following statement:

“It is with regret that I must inform you of the resignation of Adam D. Orkin. Over the past several months, Adam has faced an increasingly heavy workload and a conflicting schedule between his business and MARTA obligations. I want to personally thank him for his pragmatic, business-oriented approach to our many challenges. Adam’s wit and spirit of cooperation helped us move the Authority forward and those qualities will be missed. He was a valuable asset to the Board. I know you all will join me in wishing him well.”

The Fulton County Commission will appoint Mr. Orkin’s replacement to the 12-member Board of Directors.
