Woodson Ranks Among Conference Leaders

After posting her season’s best time, Clark Atlanta University senior Markeisha Woodson ranks third in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) women’s cross-country standings.

Woodson, who has led the Lady Panthers in every competition this season, posted a time of 20:05.78 in the Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational 5K last weekend that helped CAU to an eighth place finish and paced her for the second best time in the conference last week.

Joining Woodson as one of the SIAC’s top performers from last week was sophomore Sanley Richemond whose 22:37.86 time at Jacksonville garnered her fifth place. Richemond is also among the top 10 runners in the conference with a ninth place ranking overall.

Leading the way for the CAU men’s cross-country team at the Jacksonville State Inivitional was freshman runner Tarik Dennie who posted a 30:09.86 time in the men’s 8K run. As a team, the Panthers placed eighth overall. Both the men’s and women’s cross-country teams will compete in their final regular season meet Friday, Oct. 11, at Point University (West Point, Ga.).
