Atlanta police believe a surveillance video from a Chevron gas station could hold clues to the killing of Morehouse graduate Joe Gibbs.

On June 13, Gibbs was driving with a passenger in southwest Atlanta when gunmen fired into his car, killing Gibbs and shooting his passenger in the hand. The passenger is currently was sent to Grady Memorial Hospital and was in stable condition.

On Monday, police contacted WSB-TV with surveillance video from a gas station near where Gibbs was killed. The police reportedly are looking for help determining the identities of the two men in the video, which was taped an hour before the shooting occurred.

Two suspects, Nicolas Smith and Devin Campbell, have already been arrested and charged with murder, but more arrests could be made, depending on what is learned about the video.

The shooting has caused a stir on Morehouse’s campus.

Recent Morehouse graduate Ryan Hobbs spoke to WSB’s Eric Philips about Gibbs.

“He just graduated, so I’m sure this was the farthest thing from his mind – that a week later, he would die”.

Police believe that the shooting was likely premeditated. Authorities are asking anyone with knowledge about the crime to call the Atlanta Crimestoppers tip line at 404-577-8477.
