Richard Pryor biopic to debut

In the world of comedy it would be difficult, if not impossible, to name anyone who broke down more boundaries —and influenced more younger comedians — than Richard Pryor.
In addition to the raw language (he later renounced using the word “nigger” following a trip to Africa), no aspect of Pryor’s often turbulent private life was off limits. Anything that happened to him audiences would hear about, but with a humorous spin, no matter how serious it may have been.
On May 31 at 9 p.m., Showtime will premiere a documentary titled “Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic.” It will be an in-depth exploration of Pryor’s life and career, with the same honesty that characterized his stage, television and film work.
The presentation will be enhanced by a series of testimonials from an array of friends and admirers including Robin Williams, Dave Chappelle, Lily Tomlin, George Lopez and Whoopi Goldberg.
