Weather Expected to Heat Up After Last Week’s Snow

Atlantans can expect warmer temperatures around the 60s Tuesday after a week of sub-below freezing weather.

Temperatures early Monday morning averaged out to 26 degrees around the metropolitan area. Winds dropped the temperature into the mid-teens just before dawn.

The forecast for afternoon is expected to be partly cloudy with today’s high to be 57 degrees according to WSB.

Weekend temperatures saw the official high for the city at 39 on Saturday and 42 on Sunday, with snow flurries on both days. Sunday marked the first time it has ever snowed on March 3 in Atlanta.

As usual with Atlanta, there will be a chance of rain for the week.

There will be a 30 percent chance of rain for Monday evening going into Tuesday. Chances will increase to 60 percent Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday will see temperature drop again with windy conditions and highs in the mid-40s and lows in the low 30s. Thursday and Friday will be sunny and warmer with temperatures reaching the mid-50s to 60s and lows in the 30s.
