The Board of Directors for Release to Reunion celebrated the reunification of two families at its Second Annual “Embracing Families” Holiday Banquet. The non-profit organization embraced mothers who were recently reunited with their children by spreading Christmas cheer at the South Cobb Community Center (620 Lions Club Drive).
These families have suffered with near homelessness and DFACS intervention in their efforts to remain together. This celebration set the stage with a reception beginning at 4:00 p.m. and includes an evening filled with music, theater, dinner and a Christmas tree stuffed with special gifts for the celebrated “families.”
“Embracing Families for the Holidays” is all made possible by the Release to Reunion Board of Directors and its sponsorship partners.
Release to Reunion, Inc., was created to assist families in transition by giving deserving parents a second chance to reenter society and reunite with their children. In providing a single parent family with the love, support and holiday cheer it deserves, this event provided a positive example for families everywhere and served as a source of hope and inspiration for all those in need of a second chance.
This year, the guest list was reserved to the Board of Directors, their families and friends, community officials, other organizations throughout the community that provide like services, as well as those who serve in an advisory capacity to the organization. In future years, the organization plans to open the event to the general public as a celebration of love, family, and holiday cheer – “Embracing Families for the Holidays.”
