If Twitter is to be trusted rapper Jay-Z is set to help write the score to Baz Luhrmann’s big screen remake of “The Great Gatsby.”

Jeymes Samuel of the Bullitts revealed the news on his Twitter account, saying “Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby!”

Samuel continued, “It is too DOPE for words!”

Unfortunately for folks who have been waiting with baited breath for a J-Hova and F. Scott Fitzgerald collab, neither the filmmakers nor the rapper have confirmed the announcement.

Samuel does have a connection to the Jigga Man, having worked with Jay Electronica on his hit song “Close Your Eyes.” The song also featured actress Lucy Liu. Electronica is signed to Jay-Z’s management company.

Samuel is also the younger brother of R&B crooner Seal and has written and directed “They Die By Dawn,” a soon-to-be-released Western starring Idris Elba.

“The Great Gatsby” will be released on May 10, 2013 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Isla Fisher.
