To honor her late grandmother, pop star Rihanna has donated $1.75 million dollars to a Barbados hospital, according to E! News reports.

Rihanna lost her grandmother, Clara “Dolly” Braithwaite, in June to cancer. Around that same time she tweeted, “Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you.”

The singer visited the hospital Saturday with her mother and Dolly’s husband, Lionel.

The 24-year-old’s donation led to the radiotherapy department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown to be renamed the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine and has reportedly paid for vital pieces of equipment.

“This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the [Queen Elizabeth Hospital] in its continued modernization program,” Rihanna said in a statement. “I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them.
