The 2013 Fulton County Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved a new water and sewer budget last night that will include a 4 percent rate reduction for retail water and sewer customers.

As a result, Fulton County water and sewer customers will enjoy the lowest water and sewer rates in metro Atlanta, effective February 1, 2013.

The current water rate of $3.02 per 1,000 gallons will be decreased to $2.90 per 1,000 gallons and the current sewer rate of $5.74 per 1,000 gallons will be decreased to $5.51 per 1,000 gallons

For a customer using approximately 6,000 gallons per month, the saving for water and sewer will be approximately $25 per year. If water consumption is 12,000 gallons per month, the saving for water and sewer will be approximately $50 per year.

Fulton County provides water and sewer services in most of Fulton County north of the Chattahoochee River. The County also provides sewer services in South Fulton and City of Sandy Springs..

During the December 19 meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved the final 2013 budgets for the Fulton County Water and Sewer Revenue Fund and the Water & Sewer Renewal and Extension Fund.
