Frank Ski and Wanda Smith announced this morning that they are leaving the “Frank and Wanda Morning Show” and radio station V-103. The announcement came in the morning after Ski told listeners on Wednesday that he would be making “the biggest announcement of my life” the next day.

The AJC reports that Atlanta native and long-time afternoon host Ryan Cameron will take over mornings in January. Big Tigger, a former BET “106 & Park” host last heard on the radio in D.C., will take over afternoons.

“We will definitely miss waking up every morning and coming into this studio and doing what we do every day,  but we know God has other plans and other things He wants us to do,” Ski said on air. Later, he added, “I want to expand and grow.”

He said their final day will be Thursday, Dec. 20.

Frank and Wanda have been on the Atlanta airwaves for 14 years and their V-103 morning show has been at the top of the ratings for years in the region. The studio was packed with guests as the duo made their announcements.

“It is time for me to walk in faith,” Ski began this morning, a little after 7 a.m. “But chase my passion and my spiritual purpose and expand my brand and to grow. It is time, Atlanta, for me to explore other opportunities that God has for me that will allow me to serve more people on a greater level.”

Ski thanked the station’s general manager, his co-host Smith, the V-103 family and the city of Atlanta for “allowing me to be a part of your radio family.”

Ski also made clear that he would be back on radio airwaves, but did not make clear in what capacity that would be or how.

Smith made her announcement about an hour after Ski made his, also on the air during their show.

“Let me be clear,” Ski said, “I am not leaving Atlanta. This is my home.”

Frank is rumored to be replaced by popular afternoon host Ryan Cameron, according to gossip site StraightFromtheA.com.

The site reports hearing murmurs that Cameron will be joined by Ski’s former sidekick Elle Duncan, who left V-103 and ventured briefly into television on WXIA-TV, Atlanta’s NBC affiliate.

Neither V-103, nor CBS Radio, the station’s parent company have released an official statement.
