Hawks Prepare to Take on Heat in Miami

The Hawks will take their talents to South Beach tonight for a game against Eastern Conference rival Miami, playing on the Heat’s home court for the first time this year in the second-of-four games between the clubs.

In the series’ first contest, the Heat recorded a 95-89 win at Philips Arena. Chris Bosh led all scorers with 24 points and LeBron James fell one assist short of a triple-double, punching in 21 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.

Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 20 points and 11 assists in an effort that fell just short of a win.

The game is the first of a two-game road trip for the 12-5 Hawks, who next visit the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

Atlanta has been playing well on the road of late. The team has a three-game winning streak away from Philips Arena, and the best road record in the Eastern Conference, at 5-2. Big man Al Horford has recorded five consecutive double-doubles, averaging 18.0 points and 12.4 rebounds on .541 FG percentage during the streak.

The Heat currently own a four-game winning streak against Atlanta, including the last game in Miami in March, which was an 89-86 Miami win. The last time that Hawks were able to get a win against the Heat was a 100-92 road decision on January 2.

The game can be seen on SportSouth HD and heard on AM 680 and 93.7 FM.
