The Falcons have announced that linebacker Sean Weatherspoon is the the team’s Community All-Star for the month of December.
Weatherspoon served as the Ambassador for the 2012 Atlanta Falcons First Down for Fitness program presented by Kimberly-Clark Professional, which is a three month program with over 55,000 kids from across the state of Georgia and Mexico that promotes physical fitness and healthy lifestyle choices. As the Ambassador, Weatherspoon attended several visits to elementary and middle schools where he lead the students in various fitness activities.
Additionally, Weatherspoon hosted ten families for his SPOONful of Hope charity event at the World of Coca-Cola for a special day that included a tour, pizza party and a questions and answer session.
Each month during the 2012 season, the Atlanta Falcons will select a player who has participated in community activities, shown a commitment to giving back to the community and/or went above and beyond on a particular visit. The Atlanta Falcons Community All-Star can be any player on the Falcons roster.
On Monday, December 10, each of the Atlanta Falcons Community All-Star Winners will be recognized at the annual Atlanta Falcons Community Honors Dinner and one will be named the 2012 Atlanta Falcons Walter Payton Man of the Year.
