“Basketball Wives, Miami” star Royce Reed has asked a judge to order her ex, L.A. Lakers player Dwight Howard, to pay the court fees in their on-going custody battle.
According to TMZ, bills are mounting and because Howard earns more than Reed — and insists on battling her for sole custody of their 4-year-old son Braylon — she feels he should pay the cost.
TMZ reports:
Royce claims that Dwight rakes in over $1.3 million per month and should cough up the cash, otherwise, the fight’s not fair. She claims he can hire an army of lawyers … while she’ll get buried in bills and eventually have to drop out.
In the docs, her lawyer says she’s already racked up a $44,113.50 bill and is expected to tack on another $60k plus if she continues to fight … for a grand total of $106,621.80.

As previously reported by NewsOne, Reed has accused a judge of being biased against her because she had a child out of wedlock with a basketball player. In addition, one of Howard’s lawyers endorsed the judge on his website.
In a previous interview in Esquire, Howard said he just wants thee battle to be over:
It’s very important. Hopefully me and my son’s mom will come to a better agreement for my son. When I do see him, we have the best time in the world. He acts just like me. He tries to run like me. He looks back and smiles like me. Fatherhood is great and it will get better. He’s young. He’s gonna need his father in his life. People say you don’t need a father to be successful. I take offense to that. I had an argument with my mom about Father’s Day and why it’s not celebrated like Mother’s Day.”
I would never, ever desert my child. A lot of my friends didn’t have fathers growing up, and they were very upset that their fathers weren’t around. I was lucky to have mine around.”
