Richard Ross’s “Juvenile-In-Justice” photographs will be on display in The Art Gallery in Kennesaw State University’s Sturgis Library through November 1.

The riveting images were documented during visits Ross made with more than 1,000 youth confined in more than 200 juvenile detention institutions in 31 states. “The enormity of the psychological trauma that comes with locking young people into prisons is visible in the photos,” says John Fleming, editor of Juvenile Justice Information Exchange (JJIE), an online news site. The Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
