The San Francisco Giants piled it on in their National League Championship series final against the St. Louis cardinals. They won handily, 9-0, to move on to the World Series.

San Francisco closed out Game 7 of the NLCS in a rainstorm, routing the St. Louis Cardinals and coming back from a 3-1 series deficit.

The Giants won their its record-tying sixth elimination game of the postseason.

The team won it all in 2010 and will now host reigning AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander, Triple Crown winning slugger Miguel Cabrera and the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 on Wednesday night.

Verlander is tapped to pitch Wednesday’s opener at AT&T Park. Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that he had not planned any further in advance of Monday night.
