Morehouse Defeat CAU in Local Rivalry
Morehouse running back Thomas Williams scored three touchdowns, including a 95-yard kickoff return to lead the Maroon Tigers to a 34-16 win over local rival Clark Atlanta University on Sept. 29. With the loss, CAU dropped to 1-2 in the conference and 1-4 overall.
Morehouse quarterback Donnay Ragland finished the day completing 14-of-22 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 131 yards on 11 carries.
Georgia Tech Falls to Middle Tennesse St.

Georgia State Falls to William & Mary to Remain Winless
Georgia State University fell to William & Mary, 35-3, on Sept. 29 at Zable Stadium as the Panthers were undone by seven turnovers.
Donald Russell had 134 yards rushing and receiving, and Ronnie Bell showed his play-making ability in his first start at quarterback for Georgia State, but William & Mary scored 28 points off GSU turnovers. Playing their first Colonial Athletic Association road game, the Panthers (0-5) hurt themselves with four interceptions and three lost fumbles.
McKinnon, Defense Spark Georgia Southern Victory
Jerick McKinnon scored on runs of 41 and 67 yards, and Lavelle Westbrooks returned an interception 72 yards for a touchdown to lead No. 9 Georgia Southern to a 35-16 Southern Conference football victory over No. 25 Samford Saturday night at Paulson Stadium. The victory improved GSU’s home win streak to 13 games.
