Falcons Prevent Lost Weekend for Atlanta Sports Fans

As sports weekends go, it was a rough one for Atlanta-area sports fans.

The Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets all lost — and in some cases, it was not just another loss.

Triple ouch.

Do you think Georgia will rebound and win the SEC East? After all, UGA won the East in 2011 despite losing to Spurrier and the Gamecocks. Do you think the Falcons will finally win a playoff game? Tell us in the comments below.

The Atlanta Falcons prevented an ugly sweep by beating Washington, 24-17, to remain unbeaten at 5-0. However, the team has not won a playoff game under Head Coach Mike Smith.
The Braves lost the new one-game Wild Card playoff Friday, ending their season. And the game featured a controversial infield fly rule call that thwarted a Braves rally in the eighth inning.
The Bulldogs looked lost in a 35-7 defeat to rival South Carolina and head coach Steve Spurrier, one of the most disliked people in UGA football history. Now UGA faces an uphill battle to repeat as SEC East champs.
Georgia Tech was clobbered 47-31 by ACC rival Clemson, dropping Tech to 2-4 on the season.
