“Jazz On the Lawn” Continues Fridays At Callanwolde

“Jazz On the Lawn” continues at Callanwolde on Fridays through Aug. 14, when many will unwind and relax under the stars.  Surrounded by the natural beauty of Callanwolde’s lush grounds, it’s a great way to enjoy live music performed by some of the finest jazz artists in the Southeast.

The remaining schedule of brilliant jazz artists are:

Friday, July 29, Madoca & Company teams up with The Prince Project to create an expressive, passionate performance of a mix of fusion, funk, Latin and contemporary jazz styles. Composer and jazz keyboard artist Madoca will charm you with her talent and style.  She has performed throughout the world and headlined many local jazz venues.

Jazz vocalist and multiple winner of Creative Loafing’s “Best Jazz Artist” Gwen Hughes swings with a mix of elegant jazz, earthy blues and a little rock ‘n’ roll. She will appear at Callanwolde on Friday, Aug. 12 with her band, The Retro Jazz Kats.  She brings listeners a memorable evening of fun and music.

So bring your blanket and a picnic basket to enjoy these special concerts under the stars.  Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is at 980 Briarcliff Road, N.E. and parking is free.
