Martin manages a staff of 42 and a budget of more than $8 million.
Martin is proud Atlanta Habitat has built more than 1,100 houses for more than 4,000 family members. As a leader she says, “I like to think I’m a person who listens and coaches but is clear about expectations. I try to provide opportunities for staff to learn and grow – and to have some fun along the way,” said Martin.
Susan Bixler, a widely recognized author, speaker, executive coach and expert in leadership development, is the CEO and founder of Bixler Consulting Group. Bixler founded her company, originally The Professional Image, in 1980 and is a trusted partner to over 1,500 businesses and corporations. Bixler joined Atlanta Habitat’s board of directors in 2008, offering an impressive amount of business acumen and bringing a strong voice for empowering staff and supporting the organization’s mission. Previously, she served on the Advisory Council and is a charter member of The Clark Howard Society.
“Susan chairs the board’s Human Resources committee and provides invaluable advice to our organization,” said Martin. “She never says ‘no,’ whether strengthening our organization or helping us open new channels of interest by telling our story to business colleagues.”
The Business to Business awards luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m, with an honorees-only reception on the previous day at the offices of Towers Watson.
