Liberia Is ‘Open For Business’ Seminar Is June 9

The Liberian Honorary Consul General Republic of Liberia, Cynthia Blandford Nash in collaboration with the Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Liberia is hosting a Tax Awareness Road Show in Atlanta on Thursday, June 9, from  10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

The Road Show will discuss tax and investment incentives strategically targeting  key sectors in order to encourage investment in these sectors, including Tourism; Manufacturing, Health Services; Real Estate; Transport; Technology; Banking; Poultry; Horticulture; Exportation of sea products; Agricultural food-crop cultivation and processing,. small- and medium-scale rubber and oil-palm cultivation and processing; and Forestry.

The objective is to inform Liberians and U.S businesses of various requirements and procedures in the Liberian tax system, reforms and modernization processes undertaken in both Customs and Internal Revenue procedures to enhance professional delivery of quality services, and tax incentives that are available to Liberians and U.S. businesses operating abroad that intend to invest in Liberia.

The Embassy is encouraging Liberians living in the Diaspora to attend the conference and come ready to provide recommendations on various procedures and service delivery to further promote commerce and trade, facilitate payment of legitimate taxes due the government of Liberia, enhance revenue performance and ultimately balanced national development.
