‘Bloody Sunday’ Re-Enactors March

 

 

SELMA — Hundreds  re-enact the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery that ended in a brutal attack by state troopers at the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The violent day later became known as “Bloody Sunday.”  Among the leaders of the march on March 6 are Kerry Kennedy (from left), human rights activist and daughter of Attorney General Robert Kennedy; Democratic Whip Congressman Steny Hoyer; Congressman John Lewis; and Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid. Rev. Jessie Jackson Jr. is behind Lewis.
