WNBA Atlanta Dream guard Coco Miller has recently been selected to compete in the 2011 Haier Shooting Stars competition during NBA All-Star Saturday Night in Los Angeles on Feb. 19 along with Atlanta Hawks forward Al Horford and NBA TV analyst Steve Smith. Miller helped the Dream to the Eastern Conference championship.
The Haier Shooting Stars contest features one current WNBA player, one current NBA player, and one TNT on-air talent and legend on each team. Team Atlanta features Miller, Team Atlanta will face off against teams from Los Angeles, Texas and Chicago in the annual shooting competition.
The home team from L.A. includes Sparks forward Tina Thompson, Lakers center Pau Gasol and NBA TV analyst Rick Fox. The defending champion Team Texas is represented by Silver Stars guard Roneeka Hodges, Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki and TNT analyst Kenny Smith. Team Chicago is comprised of Sky forward Cathrine Kraayveld, Bulls forward Taj Gibson and TNT NBA Analyst Steve Kerr.
Haier Shooting Stars will be televised live nationally as part of the NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by State Farm, which will also feature the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, Sprite Slam Dunk, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, and NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas. The NBA All-Star game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 20.
