Under Sugarfoot, Satch, Pee Wee, Billy Beck, etc. the Ohio Players were responsible in motivating the greatest talent of "funk groups" in the industry several from Dayton, Ohio - SLAVE, LAKESIDE, ROGER & ZAPP BAND, HEAT WAVE, DAYTON, SHIRLEY MURDOCK. The Ohio PLayers influenced : DAZZ BAND, BOOTSY COLLINS, MIDNIGHT STAR, ISLEY BROTHERS, KOOL&THE GANG, COMMODORES, THE DEAL, NEW BIRTH, BARKAYS, ONE WAY and later on the MINNEAPOLIS SOUND which included PRINCE, JIMMY JAM & TERRI LEWIS,MORRIS DAY, SHELIA E.
