Cast of 'Scandal' Helps Show Draw 2,200 Tweets Per Minute

Scandal, is generating more than 100,000 tweets during its one hour broadcast. In fact, ABC's 10 p.m. drama has viewers talking to the tune of 132,000 tweets in just 60 minutes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter "Scandal's" Jan. 31 episode received 2,200 tweets per minute.

Scandal's Jan. 31 episode did so well that it beat top rated shows like CBS' "Elementary" and NBC's "Do No Harm."
Blame the tweeting success on "Scandal's" entire casts including Kerry Washington and Dan Bucatinsky who tweet during the show with hashtags like #AskScandal.

The show was created by Shonda Rhimes who is also responsible for "Private Practice" and the long-running hit "Grey's Anatomy."

Such involvement has increased the show's second season ratings so favorably that it has become a mainstay on the network—even the repeat episodes are doing well.
While 2,200 tweets may seem like a lot, it pales in comparison to other shows that cater to the teen and tween demographic.

ABC Family's season two finale of "Pretty Little Liars" last March garnered 32,000 tweets per minute, for a total of 645,000 at the end of the show's first broadcast.

Georgia State's Rialto Center Presents Jazz Songstress Dianne Reeves

Georgia State University's Rialto Center for the Arts continues its 2012-13 season with jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves, Saturday March 16 at 8 p.m.

Reeves returns to the Rialto to share her unique jazz and R&B vocal stylings. Reeves won GRAMMYs for Best Jazz Vocal Performance on three consecutive recordings - a GRAMMY first in any vocal category. She appeared in George Clooney's Academy Award-nominated film Good Night and Good Luck, the soundtrack recording of which provided Reeves her fourth Best Jazz Vocal GRAMMY in 2006.

Reeves has recorded and performed extensively with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. She was the first Creative Chair for Jazz for the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the first singer to ever perform at the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall. In 2008, Reeves released When You Know following a period of intense touring.

This album's uniqueness can be attributed to Reeves having performed in an unusual musical context: two guitars and voice. Conceived by her manager, Darryl Pitt, for Europe's Jazz Baltica Festival, the setting enabled her to discover new ways for her voice to both soar and seduce.

Tickets start at $38 and are available at the Rialto Center's box office, (404) 413-9TIX (9849) or www.rialtocenter.org. Group and Georgia State University student discounts are offered for this show. The Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University is located at 80 Forsyth Street NW, Atlanta, Georgia. Free Parking available for all Rialto Series events.
