Antonio Brown is Elected to Atlanta City Council in Run-off

Businessman Antonio Brown has defeated Byron Amos with 100 percent of the precincts reporting in the runoff election Tuesday. Brown will take over the Atlanta City Council District 3 seat which was left vacant by the passing of Councilmember Ivory Young, Jr. last year.

Elections officials said about 1,200 people cast their ballots in Tuesday’s runoff. Brown defeated the former Atlanta Public Schools board member by 669 votes to 587 votes, or a margin of 53.3 percent to 46.7 percent.

District 3 includes the Vine City, English Avenue and Atlantic Station neighborhoods of Atlanta.
