Church Choir Festival in McKeesport

The families of Urban M. Garrett and Major Mason III presented a Church Choir Festival, in September, hosted by Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 716 Walnut St., in McKeesport, and where  Rev. Earlene Coleman is the senior pastor.
Musical selections were rendered by Jolie Rocke Brown, an acclaimed singer, music educator and visiting associate professor of Music at Texas Southern University in Houston.

Brown released her CD, in 2014, entitled “Rock of Ages: Hymns for the Soul.” Accompanying her was Joel A. Martin.
Martin is an accomplished pianist, producer composer and arranger from Connecticut.

He has been the featured soloist with the NY Philharmonic and El Paso Symphony, just to name a few.  Umojah Voices of Joy from Morning Star Baptist Church of Fairmont, W. Va., also ministered in song under the direction of Jacqueline Dooley and Bonnie King.   The choir recorded its first CD and DVD entitled, “I Give You All the Praise,” in 2006, and its second, in 2008, entitled, “Look to the Hills.” The Bethlehem Baptist Mime Ministry also participated, ministering to guests through mime.
