Chicago police charged brothers Derren Sorrells, 22, and Darwin Sorells, 26, Sunday in connection with the murder of Nykea Aldridge.
Aldridge, who was NBA player Dwyane Wade’s cousin and a mother of four, was shot and killed Friday while pushing a baby stroller in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood after leaving the Dulles School of Excellence at around 3:30 p.m. Chicago Police Department Communications Director Anthony Guglielmi tweeted about the arrest Sunday morning.
Guglielmi says Derren Sorells is a documented gang member, who is currently on parole, and that Darwin Sorells is co-conspirator, also on parole for a gun charge.
