Music on the Hill
AUGUST 27—The sixth season of Music on the Hill at Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Rd., Churchill, continues with a 4 p.m. concert by the East Winds Symphonic Band. The group, formed in 1981, plays serious concert music as well as Dixieland, Broadway show medleys and marches. For information, call 412-242-4570 or visit beulahpresby.org.

Annual Day
AUGUST 28—The Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 36 Mead Ave., Bellevue, Rev. Ray Sims, pastor, Missionary Society will celebrate their Annual Day. The afternoon service is schedule for 3:30 p.m., where Rev. Helen Pugh from the Institutional COGIC will be the guest preacher. The theme is “Striving for Excellence.” Scripture Matthew 6:33.

Unity for the Community
SEPTEMBER 3—Morningside COGIC, 5173 Dearborn St., in garfield will host its Unity for the Community from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come out and join us for food, fun and fellowship says Pastor Elder Lamont B. Shields and Congregation. Last year they gave away more than 1,000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies and more than 300 food bank boxes to the residents of Garfield, Homewood and East Liberty.  This year the focus will be raising funds to build the Lamont B. Shield Community Connection Senior and Youth Center.  For more information, call 412-853-2022.

Women’s Conference

Power of Prayer Breakfast
SEPTEMBER 10—Carrone Baptist Church’s, 7119 Frankstown Ave., Homewood, Breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. at the Hosanna House, 806 Wallance Ave., Wilkinsburg. A $25 donation is requested. All are invited to come pray, eat and fellowship at this spiritual outreach. For more information call 412-371-9919.

Church Choir Festival
SEPTEMBER 24—The Urban M. Garrett/Dr. Major  Mason III Families of McKeesport, present its Church Choir Festival featuring Morning Star Baptist Church of Fairmont, W.Va., and other local choirs and male chorus at 2:30 p.m. The host church is Bethlehem Baptist Church, 716 Walnut St., McKeesport, Pa. 15132. Please join us as we celebrate the Greatness of the Lord in song.
