After the success that the remake of ‘Ghostbusters’ had this past opening weekend, star Leslie Jones should be riding high. Instead, the SNL actress was forced to leave Twitter Monday night after being harassed with racist comments.

Jones retweeted some of the messages, which included calling her an “ape,” a “big lipped coon,” and “the source of AIDS.”

The 48-year-old responded to the hateful messages, saying, “I feel like I’m in a personal hell. I didn’t do anything to deserve this. It’s just too much. It shouldn’t be like this. So hurt right now.”

“I use (sic) to wonder why some celebs don’t have Twitter accts now I know. You can’t be nice and communicate with fans cause people crazy [sic],” she continued.

Paul Feig — who directed Ghostbusters — showed support for the star on social media. “Leslie Jones is one of the greatest people I know,” he wrote. “Any personal attacks against her are attacks against us all.”

He also encouraged people to tweet their support for her under the hashtag #LoveForLeslieJ.”

“I leave Twitter tonight with tears and a very sad heart. All this cause I did a movie,” Jones last tweeted.

Forget the haters Leslie, we love you beautiful!
