Bulls Rookie Hits Pair Of Buzzer Beaters To Win Summer League Championship

Even though it’s just the summer league, Bulls rookie Denzel Valentine is taking the game very seriously.

Monday night, the 14th draft pick by the Bulls hit two buzzer beaters, a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime and then a two-pointer to win the game at the overtime buzzer.

The hometown team went on to win the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves 84-82, finishing with a perfect 7-0 record and winning the summer league title, reports NBA.com.

“People that say (it’s just summer league) are saying they didn’t win summer league,” Valentine said. “Whoever is saying that, that’s a losing mentality. If you’re out here, you’re competing. If you’re out here and not competing, then why are you playing? Play these games just like an NBA game.”

Valentine is showing great promise and along with the addition of Dwayne Wade and Rajon Rondo, hopefully the Bulls will be able to clinch a NBA title soon!
