A night many daughters will always remember, recently took place at The Jeron X. Grayson Center in the Hill District for “The Ties & Tiaras Daddy Daughter Dance.”

The dance was presented and organized by the Garfield Gators football coach and Mentors for Brothers and Sisters Emerging, Coach Hank. The idea for the event came about from a conversation that was held with a co-worker.

“I’m seemingly always doing something involving our youth, mainly young boys and one day a co-worker named Beverly Hickman suggested I put together a Father/Daughter dance. It took about a year before I finally committed. However, together with her and Shinora Grayson-Johnson, who is the Director of Operations for the Cares program, we planned, prepared, and produced an epic event,” Coach Hank said.

While the attendees were also entertained by a comedian Bulo, and professional photographer Vernon Young Jr. provided photos and video footage.
