On May 14, at Hosanna House in Wilkinsburg, Classic Events celebrated survivors with the Fourth Annual Ladies Who Network. The afternoon soiree featured a tea hosted by Michele Goodman Jones of Michele Goodman Studio (MGS) and yours truly served as the pink carpet correspondent greeting survivors of cancer, heart disease and domestic violence as they shared their stories with the audience.

The centerpiece of the afternoon was an etiquette presentation presented by Goodman-Jones. Ralph P. Watson founder of Classic Events has named Goodman-Jones the “Empress of Etiquette,” and on this day she lived up to her title by sharing little known facts about how one should conduct their selves in a social setting. She spoke about putting your elbows on the table, covering your mouth when you yawn and what to do when someone hands you a business card and so much more. At the Michele Goodman Studio now located in New Castle, Pa. MGS specializes in I.M.A.G.E. Workshops (interviewing, makeup, appearance, grooming and etiquette).
Watson says the next Classic Event is for the men. Mark your calendars for the Men’s Health Initiative on Saturday, Aug. 20 at St. James Episcopal Church, 11524 Frankstown Rd. in Penn Hills. There will be free health screenings, healthcare information, vendors and a grillmaster competition. Contact yourclassicevent@gmail.com
