The Georgia Bulldogs football head coach was not happy that The University of Georgia agreed to pay performer Ludacris $65,000 and provide candy, condoms and cognac to perform at their spring game, better known as G-Day, according to a contract released in response to an open records request.
Head football coach Kirby Smart told ESPN radio show host Paul Finebaum he was not privy to the terms of a contract Georgia entered into with Ludacris. But he intimated that UGA needs to be more mindful of the kind of contracts it writes for similar situations in the future.
“I wasn’t privy to the contract and obviously we need to do a better job of handling situations like that,” Smart told Finebaum.
Finebaum posted Smart’s sentiments on his Twitter account.
According to the Macon Telegraph, a senior athletic director and chief financial officer at UGA signed the contract.
This news comes after Luda came to the school’s rescue after UGA athletic director admitted that they were unable to procure pre-game entertainment two days before G-Day on April 16, The Telegraph reported.
The Athens Banner Herald reported that the “Southern Hospitality” singer performed for 13 minutes. The paper also procured the list of Ludacris’ request list for his room:

  • A loaf of bread (whole grain with the most amount of grains)
  • Organic peanut butter (creamy only)
  • Organic jelly (strawberry or grape only)
  • Candies (assorted i.e., Snickers, M&Ms, Jolly Ranchers)
  • Box of Fruit Rolls Ups
  • Mint Listernine
  • 1 box of Trojan Magnum Condoms (excstasty)
  • 2 bottles of Belvedere Vodka and a case of Nico Coconut Water.
