On an absolutely fabulous Easter Sunday, more than three thousand worshipers attended church on the behest of Macedonia Baptist Church of the Hill District, at the Wyndham Grand Hotel downtown. It was the first unified worship put on by a church in Pittsburgh.
The theme of the day of worship was about love. “ Love is more than just words, love is an action,” said Tanika Harris of Macedonia. “Love is something that one does.”
For the first time in 20 years the Church’s entire membership was able to worship together. Families from near and far dressed in their “Sunday Best,” came out to celebrate Christ’s ascension. Special musical guest were national recording vocalist Anaysha Figueroa-Cooper, who performs with Kirk Franklin, and Jason Washington & Sounds Of Heaven. The sermon was conducted by Rev. Brian J. Edmonds, senior Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church.
