By now you may have heard something about the possible destruction of the Chicago Police misconduct records dating back to 1967. The showdown between the Chicago Police unions: Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), and the Police Benevolent and Protective Association (PBPA) versus the City of Chicago just got heated up.
As the public caught wind of the union’s attempt to silence the voice of decades old, misconduct records; close to 200 people from across the country have signed witnesses slips online, in support, of Illinois State Representative, La Shawn Ford’s, HB6266, which would amend Illinois state law, thus making the records permanent.
