boiling-water-2Story Retraction

T water advisory issued in Highland Park on Feb. 3 was lifted as of Feb. 7 according to Highland Park city officials, the Wayne County’s Department of Health and Veterans and Community Wellness. The Michigan Chronicle apologizes to the citizens  of Highland Park for any concerns this story may have caused. While there had been an advisory in effect we did not get notice that the low water conditions caused by the major fire of a warehouse at Hamilton and Oakman Blvd.

The Highland Park Water system experienced low water pressure conditions and as a precaution issued a boil water advisory. However bacterial samples from the drinking water distribution system have been tested by the City of Highland Park and proven free from coliform bacteria.

Again, the Michigan Chronicle sincerely regrets our error and and any alarm we may have caused the residents and businesses of Highland Park.
