The spectacular and opulent Lodge at Sea Island was named the best hotel on U.S. News & World Report’s’ 2016 list of Best hotels in the United States.
The resort receives five stars from the publication.
The other Georgia hotels on the list include another ostentatious hotel on the same island just off the Georgia coast and two in the city of Atlanta:
- The Cloister at Sea Island – No. 60.
- The St.Regis Atlanta (Buckhead) – No. 64
- The Four Seasons Hotel (Midtown Atlanta) – No. 97
