You just won the lottery now what do you do? I’ve been keeping a book in my library just for this very reason. No, I have not won the lottery, but I hope this book will prepare me just in case. The name of the book is “Infinite Financial Freedom: What to do Before and After You Win the Lottery” by Rob Sanford, Certified Financial Planner.
I interviewed Sanford when I was a talk show host at WAMO in August of 1994 and he shared so much information about what to do when you win the lottery. Let’s say you are a winner of a big prize, like the one we have seen in the recent Powerball. Would you know what to do first? The first thing I would do is sign the ticket and put it in a safe place until I could turn it in, and I would not tell anyone I won until it was confirmed.
