Good company, good food and good old-fashioned fun are the ingredients of an EMANON party.
On Dec. 13, 2015, EMANON (no name spelled backwards) held their Annual Yuletide Party. As always, the evening started with an icebreaker contest that the group has made legendary. The icebreaker is filled with questions that drive you to interact with strangers. The questions “did you see the movie, War Room?” “have you been to Mexico?” and “can you tell a funny joke?” were just a few of questions on the icebreaker list. Once again, Kathy Towns, wife of EMANON member Theo Towns, was the first to finish and won a bottle of “fine” wine.
Lawrence Davis says that thousands of dollars is spent on the gifts and door prizes. It appears that many of the members are also comedians.
Guests enjoyed the hospitality of the Penn Hills Comfort Inn and their hosts, the members of EMANON. On board to greet over 150 guests were Alan Cousar, Clarence Curry, Ronald Curry, Les Daniel, Larry Davis, Paul Dorsey, Robert Smith, Joseph Thomas and Theo Towns.
In true Emanon fashion, the gents asked all to sign a huge get well card for Bob Nicklos. Also missing from the festivities this year was Chris Hardy and Samuel Pinckney. The group always lives up to their motto, “Ain’t no party like an EMANON party, cause an EMANON party don’t stop!” Since the group’s inception in 1954, only 50 men have been known as an EMANON member.
