Contrary to popular belief, hand written thank you notes have not gone out of style. I still write them and I still receive them. Sometimes they are in the form of a detailed letter, others are just a simple thank you. It doesn’t matter the size of the thank you I am grateful to receive it.
The year 2015 was a challenging one for me, some of you may remember that we lost our mom in April, making Thanksgiving and Christmas the first year without her. Thanksgiving was especially hard for me this year; for the past few years our family would go to the nursing home and have dinner with our mom there. UPMC Heritage did a very nice job of creating a festive atmosphere for the Thanksgiving meal. I think my mom thought she was at a restaurant.
